Intel Core i5
Intel Core i5 is the go-to processor for most PC users out there. Why? It is because Intel Core i5 strikes the right amount of balance between power, and affordability. Modern Core i5 processors come with at least 6 cores and 6 threads, and go all the way upto 8 cores, and 8 threads. There is no multi threading/hyperthreading, so you do not get double the threads. But, that does not mean that performance is going to be an issue. In terms of clock speeds, depending upon the variant we are talking about, you can get upto 4.9 GHz of max turbo frequency. The combination of these many cores, with such a high clock, ensures that it can perform almost every task you throw at it.
Gaming is a breeze, thanks to the high single-core performance. And, some content creation work can be done too. However, due to the lack of multi-threading we do not recommend the Intel Core i5 for rigorous content creation workload. If you are getting a new mid-range PC and want a great processor, the Intel Core i5 processors are something you should check. It ticks all the right boxes and is a great series of processors from Intel.
