Processor: The processor is undoubtedly one of the most important components in any video editing-based configuration. We are going with the AMD Ryen 9 7950X3D in this build, which is the most powerful AMD processor that you can get right now for video editing. As for specifications, this processor features 16 cores, 32 threads, and a 5.7GHz boost clock. And, the AMD 3D V-Cache technology also improves the overall performance. Not to mention, you can even overclock it if you want with a compatible B-series or X-series motherboard.
Motherboard: Since this is an ultra-high-end configuration, we obviously will use the X-series boards. We are using the MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi Motherboard specifically due to its amazing specifications and features.
RAM: For the memory/RAM, we are going with the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 128GB (32GB x 4) 5200MHz kit. With this we get 128GB of fast DDR5 5200MHz memory running in a quad-channel configuration. This makes it perfect for such a high-end video editing PC configuration.
Graphics Card: DaVinci Resolve Studio is one of those video editing applications that is quite dependent on the graphic card, and since we have the ultimate PC configuration here, we are going with the best option in the market right now. And, that’s the RTX 4090, we are using the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 WindForce variant specifically due to its high clock speed and good cooling performance.
CPU Cooler: Being such a powerful processor, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D heats a lot when it’s under stress or load. We need a powerful CPU cooler to ensure there are no issues in regards to stability or performance. And, that’s why we have the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360 Atmos ARGB. This 360mm AIO liquid cooler not only keeps the processor cool but also makes your entire PC setup look better thanks to its stylish design and gorgeous ARGB lighting.
Storage: For the best experience, you need a storage setup that’s not only fast, but is also plenty large. This will ensure that all the things happen fast, and there is ample storage to store all the large video files and such. We are going with a combination of two M.2 NVMe Gen 4 SSDs for these reasons. One of them is the Samsung 980 Pro 1TB and the other one is the Western Digital Blue SN580 500GB.
SMPS: Now, this PC configuration for video editing is literally one of the most powerful options that you can get right now in terms of raw performance. So, you obviously need a high-wattage PSU to ensure that all these components get the required power. We are going with the Cooler Master MWE 1250 V2 power supply unit in this case. This ATX 3.0 PSU from Cooler Mater features 80+ Gold certifications and is also fully modular.
Case, Cooling Fans, and Accessories: Now to ensure that our PC configuration looks as good as it performs, we are using an interesting combination of case and accessories. For the cabinet, we are going with the Lian Li Lancool III Mesh. This is a stylish cabinet and has some unique features such as hinged panels all around, tempered glass panels on both sides, a mesh front panel, a removable top fan bracket, four pre-installed 140mm fans, etc. As for space, there is plenty of it, you can install up to ten 120mm fans, 420mm radiators, and graphics cards with lengths up to 435mm. To make the appearance and airflow better, we have added three Cooler Master CF120 ARGB and a DeepCool FH-04 fan hub as well.
The PC configuration that we shared today features the powerful configuration of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Gigabyte RTX 4090 WindForce, and 128GB of fast DDR5 Corsair Vengeance memory running in a quad-channel configuration. With this type of configuration, you can be assured that you will be able to do everything and anything that can be done with DaVinci Resolve Studio.
Be it implementing resource-intensive visual effects, be it applying multiple complex layers, or be it editing super high-resolution video files, etc. This configuration is so powerful that all of that will be done without any issues. And, most importantly, everything will be super fast and snappy.
With that, we have covered everything about our ultimate DaVinci Resolve Studio video editing PC configuration. If you have read all that we mentioned above, then it should become clear to you by now, that this PC configuration is extremely powerful when it comes to video editing in DaVinci Resolve. In fact, not just video editing, with this type of specifications, you can do almost anything that one can want to do in a powerful setup.
